Travel Games - an introduction
Geoffrey Parker's range of travel Backgammon stems from a mixture of practicality and the use of the finest materials for the job coupled with the skills of the master-craftsman.
We have two hard sided cased and two roll-up travel Backgammons in our current ranges. Our handsize (# Bspk-81) followed a request from the famous Venice Simplon Orient Express train, where quality needed to go hand in hand with a compact travel sized set. Since then our Ultra-slim travel (# OTB/555) board which encompasses Chess and Draughts/Checkers as well, whilst starting its life within our Bespoke range now features within our Off the Bench collection.
With playability always at the forefront of our designs, we have worked hard to make a current trendy and often badly executed design perfect for the traveling player - our series of Roll-ups feature a much needed up-stand around the outer edge of the playing field to allow for proper play - of particular note is our production within our Bespoke range of a full size (38mm/1.5" stone/checker) Roll-up board with hard sides, just like a normal table-top board but which collapses into its own drawstring bag for travel. Embracing new technology has allowed us to make a perfectly flat printed leather playing board with no inlays to "lift" when rolled or stitching to slow play down. A smaller travel Roll-up features within our Off the Bench range.

A unique design - a full size (38mm/1.5" stone/checker) Roll-up travel board - with leather-bound hard side walls which magnetize into position with a full stone width "bar" finishing the transformation.
A beautifully lamb skin printed playing field, rolls-up and is easily stowed within its drawstring bag. A smaller bag contains 4 standard spot dice (16mm/0.63") a deep etched Doubling Cube (30mm/1.2") and the thirty acrylic stones/checkers with a concave finger "dish" in one side, traditionally flat the other.
As an optional extra, a pair of round uncrushable leather dice cups, complete with trips, are available.

Bspk-81/Prest
A classic and long standing Geoffrey Parker design - magnetically closing, this "clutch-bag" size travel Backgammon is beautifully made but as always with practicality in mind. Often when travel boards are made the stones/checkers are too small to pick-up easily - those made for this handsize board are turned Boxwood with leather inlays and at a height of 17mm/0.66" make play easy. Magnetized throughout (even on the "bar") stability is no problem and one can leave a game "frozen" while making that important transit change. Four 12mm/0.47" spot dice and a 16mm/0.63" Doubling Cube are provided.
As an optional extra, a pair of lozenge leather dice cups, complete with trips, are available.
